Postdoctoral Scholar Position (75%, four years) in Work and Organizational Psychology

The research group of Prof. Dr. Maike Debus at the Institute of Work and
Organizational Psychology (IPTO, www.unine.ch/ipto) is offering a position as a
postdoctoral scholar. The position is funded by the Swiss National Science
Foundation as part of the project “Employee Overqualification from a Leadership
Perspective: From Perception to Action”. Start date for the position is September 1
or October 1, 2025.

Your responsibilities:
- Operational management of the above-mentioned third-party funded
research project
- Plan and execute a qualitative study including interviews (among leaders and
employees) and document analysis
- Plan and execute a quantitative, multi-wave study among leaders and
newcomer employees
- Conduct qualitative analyses and advanced quantitative statistical modeling
- Publish findings in top-tier academic journals and present at international
conferences (in collaboration with other researchers involved in the project)
- Supervise students and research assistants involved in the project

Your profile:
- Completed PhD in work and organizational psychology or a related discipline
- Strong publication potential (as demonstrated by publications or submitted
manuscripts)
- Excellent command of English (oral and written)
- Strong interest in conceptual and organizational tasks in a research project
and in taking on coordination tasks
- High degree of organizational skills, conscientiousness, initiative, ability to
deal with feedback, interpersonal skills and presentation skills
- Strong skills in quantitative analysis and working with large datasets
- Research experience in the field of leadership and
overqualification/underemployment is desirable, but not mandatory
- The University of Neuchâtel is located in the French-speaking part of
Switzerland. Knowledge of French is an advantage but not a requirement.
